Mission, safeguards and measurement
A child's next step should never depend on who happened to remember it.
Saathi exists so that the plan, the evidence and the family all stay in the same place — and so that the school can prove what it is doing, to itself as much as to anyone else.
Mission
Three commitments we can be held to
The plan follows the child
When a therapist leaves, a class changes or a term ends, the programme continues. Continuity is the product.
Families are participants
A parent with a login and plain-language updates asks better questions than a parent with a PDF twice a year.
Evidence over impression
Mastery, risk and compliance are computed from session data by formulas that are unit-tested and open to inspection.
Who we serve
Who we serve
Saathi Special School in Hyderabad works with children on the autism spectrum, children with ADHD, and children with specific learning disabilities. Every child's programme runs across three streams — academics and cognition; speech, communication and behaviour; and physical and occupational therapy — and is set at the level and support intensity their own profile shows, not their age.
Documentation
RPwD and UDID documentation
Families need paperwork as well as progress. Saathi records the RPwD Act categories and UDID number on the child's record, and produces a clinical summary for external professionals from the same structured data as the school's own reports — so a certificate application does not mean starting from a blank page.
- RPwD categories and UDID number stored on the student record
- Clinical summary report type, written for an external professional
- Standardized instrument results captured as score entry with the administering professional named
- Every report content-hashed, so the copy a family submits can be verified against ours
Measurement
How impact is measured
These are the definitions. The numbers themselves are published only once the school has verified them.
Logging compliance
Sessions logged ÷ sessions scheduled, over the academic-year calendar. Practice records are excluded from every denominator.
Mastery events
Objectives that met their criterion across the required number of consecutive sessions. The formula is unit-tested and fires once per objective.
Parent engagement
Families with at least one portal session in a given week, over families with an active child.
Plan currency
Children with an active, parent-signed IEP for the current academic year, over active children.
Safeguards
Data protection & child safety
Single-tenant by design: one deployment per school, data resident in India.
Access is scoped per child — staff through an active caseload assignment, parents through guardianship — and re-checked on the server for every action.
Photographs and video require an active, revocable consent from the family, enforced when media is attached and again when it is displayed.
Every mutation touching a child writes an audit row naming the actor, the action and the time.
No third-party trackers, advertising pixels or session replay — on this website or inside the product.
Demo credentials cannot survive into production: seeded users are forced to change their password on first sign-in.
Governance
Transparency & governance
Clinical thresholds — mastery criteria, intensity bands, dosage policy — are configuration, seeded with explicit TODO markers and signed off by the coordinator before go-live.
Standardized instruments are score entry only. Saathi does not reproduce copyrighted item text and does not interpret an instrument the school has not verified.
Reports cannot be published while they depend on unverified clinical configuration.
No automated diagnosis, ever. Any AI-assisted draft requires a named human approval before it reaches a family.
